Vintage botanical illustration of a ‘flame of the forest’ tree (Burea frondosa/monosperma), also known as bastard teak.
The original drawing was made by Madame Berthe Hoola van Nooten for a 19th century book portraying exotic tropical flowers, fruits and plants from the island of Java. Digitally restored and cleaned.
