Vanadinite is a dense, brittle mineral belonging to the apatite group of phosphates. Although traditionally it’s not a gemstone (it’s the main industrial ore of the metal vanadium), it’s natural form – beautiful crimson red hexagonal crystals – makes it one of my favorite crystals, so I had to include it in the series.
